Private Teacher Registration and Certification Authority
The ‘Private Teachers Registration and Certification Authority Bill, 2005’ was passed by the National Parliament on 9 February 2005 for the preparation, registration and certification of the list of qualified teachers for the purpose of recruiting teachers in the private educational institutions of the country. The bill became law on 15 February 2005 when the President signed it into law. Through this Act, Non-Government Teachers Registration & Certification Authority (NIRCA) was established. It is a statutory authority. 30th July 2006 private teacher registration examination acceptance and certification rules were formulated for preparation of list of qualified teachers, teacher registration and certification. At the initial stage, the candidates who passed the registration test under the said rules were issued certificates for a fixed period. Based on that, the governing body or managing committee of the private educational institution used to appoint teachers. Through a circular dated 30 December 2015, NIRCA was entrusted with the responsibility of selecting candidates for the recruitment of teachers on the basis of merit for entry level vacancies in private educational institutions.

Conducting competitive examinations, issuing certificates to successful candidates, updating and publishing the combined national merit list on the website, receiving online e-requisitions from private educational institutions of the country and online against vacancies received. Selection of the best candidate based on merit at the entry level from among the candidates with registration certificate by accepting the application form and developing the overall education system of the country by talented teachers.
What is teacher registration?
To become a private school and college teacher, a teacher registration certificate is required beyond formal education. A candidate gets a score by participating in the Individual Teacher Registration Test to become a teacher in a school or college, based on which score they are subsequently recruited on the basis of their application to any MPO-affiliated educational institution in Bangladesh on the basis of vacant posts. There are 3 stages of teacher registration. The stages are-
School Level:
Assistant Teacher (Bengali, English, Social Science, Business Education, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Agriculture, Home Economics, Information and Communication Technology, Arts and Crafts and Religion), Assistant Teacher (Physical Education)/ Physical Education Teacher, Assistant Maulvi, Attending Head and Demonstrator Posts.
- School Stage-II: Trade Instructor, Junior Maulvi, Junior Teacher (General) and Abtedai Qari posts.
- College Level: Lecturer/Instructor (Tech)/Instructor (Non-Tech) Posts.
