Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s third terminal is one of the mega projects of the current government.

In 2015, the preliminary feasibility report and draft master plan for the construction of 39 third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport and expansion of Keys were completed and presented to the Prime Minister’s Office. On 11 June 2017, the Civil Aviation Authority (CABA) appointed four firms as joint consultants for the 202 project. This release is initially estimated for the duration of the project from July 2016 to June 2022. But due to various reasons, the work started on schedule. did not Later in September 2019, Civil Aviation invited tenders for its construction.

Manufacturer: Aviation Dhaka Consortium (ADC) consisting of Japan’s Mitsubishi and Fujita and South Korea’s Samsung Construction & Trading Corporation.

The terminal was designed by architect Rohani Baharin of Singapore’s CPG Corporation Limited.

There will be connection system of underground tunnel and fly bridge, metro rail and Dhaka Elevated Expressway with the third terminal building. A separate metro rail station will be created for this. Through this, passengers coming to Bangladesh can go to their destination by metro rail without leaving the airport.
